Choir to rock Towcester Food Festival

7th June 2017

Towcester Rock Choir will sing for their supper at this weekend’s Towcester Food Festival.

The 70-strong ensemble will perform their repertoire of pop and rock songs on Sunday afternoon.

Choirmaster Dave Easter said: “We have been overwhelmed by interest. We thought we might only get 30 people but 70 have signed up to sing.”

Towcester Rock Choir will be just one of the musical treats at the town’s annual food festival with other acts – blues, jazz and acoustic – also on the bill.

Among the other new highlights are cocktail masterclasses run by 185 Watling St, a steak school and a series of free foodie talks.

These additions are on top of the usual staples – free wine and gin tastings, chef demos, kids cookery classes and a free family circus.

More than 100 artisan food and drink stalls complete the line-up, which include a street food market with cuisine from around the world.

Towcester Food Festival is a celebration of artisan food and drink and takes place at Towcester Racecourse on Saturday June 10 and Sunday June 11, starting at 10am on both days.

Adult tickets are £6 in advance, or £8 on the day. Family tickets are £16 in advance. Tickets are on sale at:

Tickets to the cocktail masterclasses are £10 per person (excluding booking fee). Each participant will make two cocktails for their consumption.

Towcester Food Festival is supported by South Northamptonshire Council as part of the council’s drive to support tourism and the local economy.
