What is it?
A festival of artisan food and drink, with free chef demos, free tasting sessions, live music and family entertainment.
When and where is it?
Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12 2022 at Towcester Racecourse from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday. There is ample free parking at the racecourse.
How do I buy tickets?
It is much cheaper to buy tickets in advance - £10 (excluding booking fee) versus £15 on the gate. Tickets are available via Eventbrite. If you choose to buy on the day, payment is via credit card only.
NB: When buying online, we do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties. Tickets will be emailed to you. You can print them out or simply show them on your smart phone. Your order can also be found via surname and address so please don't panic if you forget it! If the event is cancelled for any resons, tickets will be refunded in full.
Is it suitable for the disabled?
Yes. There is disabled access to the whole festival and disabled toilets on the ground floor of the Empress Stand. There is also disabled car parking, or drop off, next to the main pedestrian entrance. Please show your blue badge and our car parking marshals will be happy to direct you.
Can I bring my dog?
We are unable to accommodate dogs at the festival I'm afraid.
Why Towcester?
The Roman name for Towcester was Lactodorum - Latin for 'Dairyman's Fort'. Where better then to have a festival celebrating food and drink! Our festival is a celebration of artisan food and drink and aims to bring economic benefit to all in the food sector, particularly artisans, and celebrate the town of Towcester.
Sounds good: any other entertainment?
Yes. There’ll be music, kids cookery classes, talks and a chef demonstration stage, featuring the best local chefs.
I want to be there as an exhibitor or vendor: what should I do?
Please contact us.
Do you need volunteers?
Yes. The festival needs lots of volunteers. We have a fantastic band of volunteers, many of whom come back every year, but we always need more. If you can give up a little time, please email us at info@towcesterfoodfestival.co.uk. In return, you get free tickets, a branded T-shirt and a £5 food voucher!
Who is behind it?
The festival was founded by local foodie Crispin Slee. Crispin was named runner up as Local Food Hero in the 2015 Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards, sponsored by Carlsberg UK, for his work helping to promote local food and drink. Chrissy Justice manages the festival and an army of volunteers help deliver the event. Masterchef judge and food critic William Sitwell is our Patron.
Free Parking
Parking at the racecourse is free and there is plenty of it. Car parking marshals will be on hand to direct you on arrival. Parking is accessed via the rear entrance from the Shutlanger Road. Take the turn to Shutlanger off the A5 and follow the signs. Futher maps and public travel details can be found at towcester-racecourse.co.uk.
Disabled access
There is disabled access to the whole festival, along with disabled toilets and disabled parking or drop off next to the main pediestrian entrance.
